Day 1

Fly into Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport to be greeted by your Host and Tour Guide, Dee Poquette. Meet your fellow tour Guests, then head off to our first home away from home to the charming village of La Cadière. We will check into the Hotel Bérard, a hotel & spa tucked in the mountains of Provence. Before arriving at the Bérard we’ll stop off at the medieval village of St. Paul de Vence for lunch and later explore it’s many winding streets. A welcome dinner awaits you on your first night in Provence at Hotel Bérard.

Day 2

After breakfast experience the sights and sounds of your first farmer’s market in Sanary-sur-Mer (voted the number one farmers markets in Provence). Here you’ll gather ingredients for today’s cooking lesson with our Michelin Star-rated chef * in his kitchen-set in a charming culinary garden, followed by lunch. Your afternoon is at leisure to explore the beautiful village and shops, relax by the pool, or indulge yourself in one of the many treatments offered at the on site Spa.

Day 3

Your culinary experience continues with another, fabulous cooking class with chef Réne Bérard*, followed by wine tasting throughout the sun kissed Bandol region of Provence. Enjoy the breathtaking sights and phenomenal range of tastes native to Provence – a truly magical feast for the senses!

*Cooking Class days and locations may vary.

Day 4

Breakfast at the hotel then we head off to explore the small feudal village of Le Castellet. We find Le Castellet perched on the edge of a cliff nestled in the heart of the Bandol vineyards. After a quick lunch in one of the outside cafes we are free to explore the many picturesque stone side streets dotted with old stone houses or perhaps you prefer to browse the many shops for authentic Provence gifts. After a leisurely visit, we’ll make our way to the oceanside port town of Cassis. Boarding a boat we’ll cruise to the Roman Calanques while enjoying the salty breeze. Words simply cannot describe the seductive colors of the Mediterranean sea – you’ll just have to experience it all for yourself.

Day 5

As we bid au revoir to the mountains and Le Cadière we’ll be moving on to Aix-en-Provence. Aix, is a gorgeous “mini Paris” overflowing with all the beguiling charm you’d expect of a quaint, centuries-old city. After checking into our Art Deco style Hôtel Saint Christophe, we’ll explore the local shops, make a stop along the way at the home of a renowned French confectionary, known for their Calissons – a traditional French biscuit. Calissons have been made at this shop since 1874 and if we’re lucky, we’ll be treated to a quick demonstration of how they’re made. Tonight we dine at the popular brasserie, Les Deux Garçons established in 1792. Les Deux Garçons has served aperitifs and food to everyone from Paul Cézanne to Émile Zola.

Day 6

After breakfast we rejoice the many markets in Aix simply by walking out our hotel front door! We’ll spend most of the morning wandering about gorgeous Aix, where French culture and history are alive and well while exploring Aix’s plethora of churches, museums, shops and more. After lunch we head out of the city of Aix-en-Provence to another French commune by the name of Salon-de-Provence, known to the locals simply as Salon. Here in Salon, we visit the famous Marius Fabre soap factory established in 1900. Anyone who knows French soaps will be thrilled to see how the famous Marseille Soaps are created. And yes, they have a gift shop you will want to visit.

Day 7

Today after breakfast we take an early morning drive to the charming Provençal village of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, known the world over for its authentic brocante (antique) market. This little gem is why we say to pack an extra, empty bag-you’ll want one today to lug all your treasures back to our hotel! French linens, silverware, china, furniture, artwork, food and pottery… the possibilities are endless – it just depends on how much you allow yourself to bring home. Your tour guide can give you a few tips on the proper way to barter, in order to get the best price!

Day 8

We say our goodbyes to the fair city of Aix, while making our way back towards Nice and the Grand Hôtel Le Florence but not before a quick stop in the dazzling, medieval village of EZE – perched on the edge of a mountain overlooking the Mediterranean sea. We’ll explore this extraordinary spot by wandering its many cobblestone streets, chock full of shops and stunning gardens. After a leisurely lunch, we’ll return to Nice – where you can experience this fabled city’s beautiful ocean views, peruse its old town area (Vieille Ville) where last minute purchases abound, or just linger by the sea – enjoying a spritz on our last day in Provence.
